Hospital Birth: 
If you are having a hospital birth, the pediatrician on-call will examine your newborn.  Dr. Hoang do not see patients at the hospital.  If you are using our pediatric services, please contact the office after birth to schedule a newborn visit the first week.  We offer oral Vitamin K if desired.

Home Birth and Birth Center Delivery
Please call the office after birth to schedule a newborn visit within 2-10 days.  We offer oral Vitamin K.  We do not offer the PKU/Newborn screening.  If your midwife is unable to perform the Newborn Screening, it can be done at the lab.  Free hearing tests are available at the John Tracy Clinic. Pediatric Well Baby Visits
Our well baby visits begin within the first few days following birth.  We want meet your little one, perform a physical exam and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Subsequent visits in the first year are scheduled at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2,  4, 6 ,9 and 12 months.  

Breastfeeding
When possible, breastfeeding exclusively is optimal for baby and mother.  Learning about breastfeeding is helpful before you give birth.   Consider having a contact number of a lactation consultant available in case of need. There are many excellent resources. If nursing continues to be difficult, it may be that your infant continues to carry the compressive pressures of the birth process.  Please contact us for a cranial osteopathic consult and treatment for your baby with Dr. Hoang.

Vaccinations
Our office is “vaccine-friendly” which means we offer vaccinations to parents who choose to vaccinate.  When possible we use the Safe Shot Strategy which includes the following: slower vaccine schedule (one shot at a time), mercury-free vaccines (when possible), homeopathic remedies/herbs following the vaccine for immune strengthening, and avoid shots if a child is sick.  For more information on vaccines, see Dr. Feder’s/Dr. Hoang's books and/or workshops, which are listed on the website.  Dr. Hoang are also available for immunization consultation.   

Natural Medicine Store
For your convenience we offer a large selection of homeopathic medicines and other natural products in the office and online (www.drfeder.com). These include books, natural cold/flu medicines, healing salves for moms (episiotomy, c/section scar, breast) and babies.  Starting in 2015, Dr. Hoang will be offering her Post Pregnancy exercise video teaching Mommies about the pelvic floor and how to do proper Kegel exercises, and 2 new Post Pregnancy Skin Rehabilitation Solutions.  They will be featured soon so watch and wait for our announcement.

Homeopathy for Birth and Beyond
Dr. Hoang is also available for a pre-natal consultation for easier childbirth and post-partum remedies, as well as for the traditional constitutional visit to address complaints and strengthen the body.   Homeopathy is used for both children and adults.
