by Lauren Feder, M.D.
Homeopathy is amazing. The remedies are versatile and can be used for many different complaints and conditions (many of which you may have never thought about). (Use 2-3 times a day for several days, or as directed by your practitioner). Dr. Lauren is beginning to compile a list. Here are some of the following:
Ignatia amara is the main remedy for loss, sorrow and grief. It is indicated when there is the sensation of a lump in the throat, sighing, and uncontrollable weeping. I also use this remedy for women with hysterical feelings and sadness in the post partum period. Read more about Ignata and other remedies for grief and sorrow.
Radium bromatum for after-effects of radiation. Use following x-rays, CAT scans, and any other types of radiation exposure.
Ledum palustre for puncture wounds. Following a puncture injury, but also a shot, spinal-type anesthesia (epidural), amniocentesis, needle biopsy (i.e. breast, liver, etc...)
Nux vomica for overeating and drinking. You already know that!
Arnica montana for bumps, and bruises. You knew that too! However, you can also use it for athletes and soccer players (headers), following surgery and dental procedures, and during childbirth.
