Naturopathy is a discipline that employs a variety of natural modalities to treat and prevent illness and strengthen a patient’s overall constitution.  Most naturopaths (N.D.s) have extensive training in accredited four-year schools in a collection of therapies that include nutrition, herbal medicine, vitamins, supplements, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and naturopathic manipulations.  Some also have additional training in homeopathy, Oriental medicine and acupuncture, Ayurvedic medicine, midwifery, and other modalities. N.D.s work both as primary care providers and as specialists, and children respond well to the versatile approaches offered by naturopathic medicine.
